Arjen Meijer
Assistant Professor
Dr. Arjen Meijer is assistant professor in the chair of Building Energy Epidemiology of the department of Architectural Engineering and Technology. As environmental scientist, he teaches and carries out research in the field of life cycle assessment (LCA) of building materials and of buildings, circular building, and measurements and analysis of energy consumption, comfort and indoor climate in dwellings. His research interest is to connect the LCA methodology to the circular built environment to gain insights in the sustainability of the construction materials used for circular solutions. Material sustainability becomes more crucial in the context of improving energy performance of buildings, making an efficient use of resources and closing material loops an important issue for promoting a comprehensive strategy for a sustainable and resilient construction sector.
