From Linear to Circular
We often hear that we need to transition to a circular built environment: but what is the current paradigm we need to transition from and why? In this video, Olga describes what our current -linear- model entails and why the transition to a circular model has become a necessity.
Have you watched Andrej’s ‘Non-Linear Thinking’ video? In it he says that time is inconsequential to linear thinking. The linear paradigm fails to recognize the irreversibility of time. Furthermore, while linearity relies on reductionism, the effects of the Anthropocene as discussed here by Olga cannot be simply reduced to their causes: just like Andrej says, this is an emergent phenomenon and no simple one-to-one correlations exist.

The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.
